Kate&Allie Porcelainware
These next two posts will be dedicated to my roommate, Kate. Friday is a special day for her - it's the opening night of her MFA Exhibition at Living Arts!
Here's some pretty jewelry that she and her friend Allison make and sell on their Etsy site. It's all porcelain and pretty pretty pretty!

Happy Birthday, Sadie!
Dear Sadie,
I cannot believe you are a year old today! Nobody knows the exact day you were born, but for the following reasons I think your birthday is on St. Patricks Day:
- you were 8 weeks old in mid May
- your name is Irish
- you are a lush
- you like to party
It seems like only yesterday I got the email from Kate's mom with your picture:
How could I not take you home with me? Even when I went to meet you in Shawnee, you were the cutest little kitten, waiting in the window to meet your future mommy.
You were so small and had lots of kitten fuzz!
I could tell from the very beginning we would be best friends.
Your big brother got a new best friend too!
You were so brave when you got your front claws and lady parts removed!
Your first house party was a success - you wanted all the attention!
You have grown up so fast!
And you will always have the largest kitty cat tail I have ever seen!
You are the most precious and nice cat in the entire world!
Your mommy,
Sarah

Hit 'em in the FACE
Here is a video that Cody made with a slow motion camera when he was working at Action Figure in Austin. It always gets featured on foreign tech/design blogs for some reason.

A royal wedding
My roommate and I may be the only ones, but is anyone else's moms completely obsessed with anything having to do with the British monarchy and their weddings?
Either way, I feel like lots of items made to commemorate events like this are extremely lacking in taste. Case in point:
However, this tea towel commemorates the royal engagement in such a pretty way. I love it!

Deadweight
I recently ordered some thank you cards from Deadweight, an etsy seller in Toronto. She sells cards, prints, postcards and stationery. I got a free postcard and triangle bunting streamer with my cards - what a nice surprise! That's good business. And I'll definitely be purchasing more from Deadweight in the future!
Check it out:
This weekend, it's off to Devils Den with Cody! Hopefully we won't get lost in a cave.

It's finally here!
Snow days sometimes spur productivity. Here's Cody's finished LA video from when we visited his brother and sister-in-law there over Thanksgiving.

I'm really glad he makes videos of the trips we take together.
Next video: Devil's Den this weekend!

SNOW-M-G
Tulsa got a blizzard overnight. 14 inches - enough to close the office for the day - see, even Corporate America gets snow days sometimes!
Things Kate and I have done (so far):
Make spiced tea (orange cinnamon tea + earl grey tea + cloves + cinnamon sticks + lemon slices)
Serve spiced tea with snow ice cream (snow + half and half + vanilla extract + sugar + nutmeg + agave drizzled on top)
Turn the spiced tea into a hot toddy (spiced tea + booze)
Paint nails
Crochet
Kate worked on her weaving
Sadie loves the snow
The end (as of 4:45pm). This snow day is far from over. And I have a closet that needs organizing!
9pm update: didn't start the closet, but google video chatted with someone special. 3 miles is a short drive when the weather is nice :-/

Earring Anxiety
I want to start wearing earrings again. Like these:
here.
My ears are pierced three times in each ear. I am scared to try to put earrings in them since I haven't worn earrings in so long. I think several of the holes may have already grown back together.
Ignorance is (earringless) bliss?
