Kate&Allie Porcelainware

These next two posts will be dedicated to my roommate, Kate.  Friday is a special day for her - it's the opening night of her MFA Exhibition at Living Arts!

Here's some pretty jewelry that she and her friend Allison make and sell on their Etsy site.  It's all porcelain and pretty pretty pretty!

A royal wedding

My roommate and I may be the only ones, but is anyone else's moms completely obsessed with anything having to do with the British monarchy and their weddings?

Either way, I feel like lots of items made to commemorate events like this are extremely lacking in taste.  Case in point:

However, this tea towel commemorates the royal engagement in such a pretty way.  I love it!

Deadweight

I recently ordered some thank you cards from Deadweight, an etsy seller in Toronto.  She sells cards, prints, postcards and stationery.  I got a free postcard and triangle bunting streamer with my cards - what a nice surprise!  That's good business.  And I'll definitely be purchasing more from Deadweight in the future!

This weekend, it's off to Devils Den with Cody!  Hopefully we won't get lost in a cave.

I'd say this is pretty accurate.

The Mammoth Collection

I recently ordered a few prints from The Mammoth Collection.  It's a great website to get interesting art for a pretty cheap price.  Same concept as 20x200.

Here are the prints I ordered:

Landscape Painting 1, by Russell Leng

Landscape Painting 2, by Russell Leng

Untitled, by Nicholas Mcelroy

Here are a few more that I liked:

Fence, by Gustav Gustafsson

Fresh Snow IV, by Jakob Wagner

I Love You Forest, by Karina Eibatova

Highway 17, by Jaime Hogge

Willow Beach, by Jaime Hogge

Get yoself some Mammoth Collection!

Stars + The Small Stakes

Stars = my favorite band
The Small Stakes = my favorite gig poster designer

So I was pretty excited to see these new additions to his website.  The prints are so pretty!

'Tis the Season

Design Work Life does a weekly post called Color Happy, containing a photo and a set of color swatches to go with it.  This one felt like it was popping out of the screen - such a pretty fall photo!  I love the colors.

Cats! In! Space!

(kinda like Pigs In Space from The Muppet Show)

I love these prints!

Go to Chicago. But don't drive. Fly instead. You're not following Sufjan's rules but it's much quicker.

Somebody just drew the back of my head, apparently.

Bobby pins and all.

P.S. I'm back

Sand Art

This is much more visually appealing than the sand art I made at Six Flags when I was 10.
